PIN16 Budget Impact Analysis of HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Telemedicine in Mississippi

To assess the budget impact of adding an HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) telemedicine intervention (telePrEP) in Mississippi, a state with one highest rates US. We developed Markov model and PrEP use Mississippi among two eligible populations: 1) men who have sex (MSM) 2) heterosexually active individuals age ≥16 years indications for as per US Centers Disease Control guidelines. The utilized 3-month time steps 5-year horizon. Model inputs were parameterized using literature, expert opinion, Federal Supply Schedules, Medicare Medicaid Fee Schedules. Costs reported from healthcare payer perspective 2020 dollars included standard-of-care (in-person), telePrEP, laboratory testing, drug, dispensing fee, care, antiretroviral therapy (ART). assumed telePrEP uptake increased 5% to 13% over 5 those eligible, impacting without on equally treatment mix. projected costs implementing addition provision compared only. performed one-way sensitivity analyses key parameters uncertainty.
